The report is developed in the context of the Pan Baltic Scope project.

The report aims to inspire current and future planners to work together for coherent cross-border maritime spatial planning.


The report integrates the experiences from the Planning Forum and serves as an institutional memory of the work done in the Pan Baltic Scope collaboration. The Planning Forum represented a practical means to deal with planning issues in the Baltic Sea region, ensuring cross-border perspective and increased coherence. The Planning Forum supported informal collaboration and knowledge exchange between partner countries and regions. 

Main Outputs / Results: 

The report presents the Planning Forum, its role within the Pan Baltic Scope, and some thoughts regarding the future work. It underlines the contribution of the Forum to more accurate Maritime Spatial Plans for the participating countries, and represents a guidelance to the research community on creating tools, better adapted to the planners’ needs. 


Although the report focuses on the Baltic Sea region, the methodology described could be applied to other regions.
