Questions this practice may help answer:

  • How can data provided by automatic sensor from salmon farms be used to spot environmental trends and ensure the farm's viability In relation to climate change?

Implementation Context:

Consumer demand for seafood keeps increasing and so does global salmon production, calling for sophisticated monitoring strategies to enable and maintain proper fish production.

Aspects / Objectives:

This study aims to demonstrate how new technologies will be essential to support salmon production to meet productivity goals while respecting environmental constraints.

Transferability:

This approach can be replicated in other aquaculture farms (shellfish, algae etc…) to support them in meeting their production and environmental goals in relation to climate change.
