The European MSP Platform has just published a short background study on “Best practice guidance in multi-use issues and licensing procedures”.
This technical study is based on desk research, using scientific literature and online project reports. It takes stock of previous work and gives an overview of the multi-use of sea space in the European Union, as well as the information necessary for planners and decision makers to consider the development of multi-use spaces. This study is based on the considerations that 1) the development of the blue economy is increasing demands on maritime and coastal spaces, and 2) some new activities require a permanent allocation of space.
