Interreg V-B “Adriatic-Ionian programme - ADRION” 2014-2020

Description:

The main goal of this programme is to act as a policy driver and governance innovator, fostering European integration among Partner States, taking advantage of their rich natural, cultural and human resources, as well as enhancing economic, social and territorial cohesion in the Adriatic and Ionian region. Four thematic priority axes are identified:

Axis 1 - Innovative and smart region (innovation); aiming at enhancing competencies and skills, improving the framework conditions; mobilising stakeholders in the fields of research and innovation; identify emerging market opportunities.

Axis 2 - Sustainable region (environment); aiming at promoting the sustainable valorisation and preservation of natural and cultural assets as growth assets in the Adriatic-Ionian area; and aiming at enhancing the capacity in transnationally tackling environmental
vulnerability, fragmentation and safeguarding ecosystem services in the programme area. 

Axis 3 - Connected region (transport); enhancing the capacity for integrated transport and mobility services and multimodality.

Axis 4 - Supporting the governance; aiming at facilitating the coordination and implementation of the EUSAIR by enhancing the institutional capacity of public administrations and key stakeholders and by assisting the progress of implementation of joint priorities.

Open call for proposals

A second call for proposal is now open for Axis 2 where MSP and ICM are specifically foreseen. In fact, the Specific Objective 2.2 "Enhance the capacity in transnationally tackling environmental vulnerability, fragmentation and the safeguarding of ecosystem services in the ADRION area" aims, under its Topic 1, to promote and exchange experience for the adoption of coherent National Strategies for ICM (ICZM protocol) and transnational maritime spatial planning (MSP directive).

The ADRION programme will allocate up to 34.354.026,50 € to co-financing to the second call for proposals.

Each project must involve at least six financing partners from six different Partner states of the Programme area, out of them: at least 4 partners from 4 different ERDF Partner States; at least 2 partners from 2 different IPA Partner States. The partnership can include a maximum of 2 partners from the same Partner State. The eligible partnership can consist of a maximum of 16 partners. The call is open until 26 June 2018.

Eligible Applicants:

Public and private subjects having legal entity established in the program area. ADRION covers eight Partner States, of which four are EU Member States (Croatia, Greece, Italy and Slovenia), three are candidate countries (Albania, Montenegro, Serbia) and one is a potential candidate country (Bosnia and Herzegovina). The geographical area of each Partner State covers its national territory except for Italy, where programme area covers 12 regions and 2 provinces (Abruzzo, Molise, Puglia, Basilicata, Calabria, Sicilia, Provincia Autonoma di Trento, Provincia Autonoma di Bolzano/Bozen, Veneto, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Lombardia, Emilia-Romagna, Umbria and Marche).

Project Length:

Project length should not exceed 30 months.

Further Financing Information:

Projects submitted within the framework of the ADRION Programme second call for proposals for Priority Axis 2 shall have an EU contribution (ERDF + IPAII) of maximum EUR 2.500.000.

ADRION contribution will be limited to a co-financing rate up to 85% of eligible costs for all partners (i.e.: both benefitting from ERDF and IPAII contribution). The share of expenditure (at least 15%) not covered by ERDF or IPA funds shall be ensured by national co-financing sources
