The final event of the project 'Progress in the Sustainable Planning of Marine Areas in Macaronesia' (Plasmar+) will be held in the Paraninfo of the headquarters of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (Canary Islands, Spain) on the 12th of December 2023.
This international event will focus on the presentation of the main results achieved throughout the project, aimed at advancing the implementation of the Marine Spatial Planning process by developing new tools based on scientific and technological knowledge in the framework of Blue Growth Strategy.
The PLASMAR+ project (2019-2022) has its origin in the results obtained in the previous PLASMAR project (2017-2020). Both projects covered keystone elements linked with the evolving process of Maritime Spatial Planning (MSP), from the inventory of the distribution of existing and future activities and uses, to the contribution to the proposals for maritime spatial plans. These two initiatives have been implemented with the participation of a partnership composed of administrations, public companies and research centres from the Canary Islands, Madeira and Azores regions, and with the support of ERDF Funds through the Territorial Cooperation Programme MAC 2014-2020.
The final Plasmar+ event will be held in a hybrid format, with speakers participating both in person and online, will be transmitted via streaming, and will offer simultaneous interpretation with English-Spanish-Portuguese language combination.
