The MED-MSP-CoP organises 3 inter-connected technical workshops between September and December 2024. These workshops will engage the MED-MSP-CoP members in:
- Discussing the main challenges related to the two subtopics selected by the MED-MSP-CoP in 2023: “Involvement of maritime sectors in marine conservation” and “MSP as a strategic framework for Sustainable Blue Economy”,
- Sharing knowledge about what is available from Mediterranean projects and other initiatives on MSP in terms of solutions,
- Identifying persisting gaps and related recommendations.
The workshops’ results will inform the elaboration of a short MED-MSP-CoP position paper on the two selected subtopics.
This second workshop will build on the results of the first workshop (17 September 2024), and will focus on provide the opportunity to showcase examples of solutions to the persisting challenges and gaps identified in workshop 1 and co-identify additional needed solutions.
