A new study from the Spanish Institute of Oceanography (IEO, CSIC), the Center for Studies and Experimentation of Public Works (CEDEX), and the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (MITERD) has just been published. This paper analyses how the marine spatial planning process is being carried out in Spain with results from cross-border MSP projects Spain has participated in. Furthermore, it explores how collaborative initiatives between neighbouring countries benefit MSP at a national level. Spain's maritime spatial plans, in particular their Strategic Environmental Assessment, are currently open to public consultation until 8 September.
