
On the 2nd of February 2023, from 13:30 until 15:30, the MEP Nils Torvalds, SEArica Vice-Chair in charge of the Baltic Sea Region, will be running the SEArica event entitled The Baltic Sea Region – a key Region for European energy resilience in a challenging geopolitical context. The event will take place in Brussels at the Helsinki EU Office. In light of the geopolitical context in the Baltic Sea Region and the accelerating global climate crisis, the aim of this seminar is to discuss the current energy challenges in the Region and the sustainable solutions and actions being developed with the support of the EU. The seminar intends to showcase, and provide the opportunities to further brainstorm, the activities in the Baltic Sea Region as a frontrunner in the deployment of renewable energies, including the role of innovative companies contributing to the overall green transition of the EU and European energy sovereignty and security.

The event is organised within the framework of the Seas, Rivers, Islands and Coastal Areas (SEArica) Intergroup of the European Parliament, together with the support of the Conference of Peripheral Maritime Regions and its Baltic Sea Commission.
